The Kent Festival Under 12s rugby tournament kicked off to an exciting start as Folkestone  beat Blackheath 5-4 to  as rugby clubs from Dover to Blackheath  battled for the prized Kent Festival Cup.

Both Folkestone  and Blackheath were hungry to game. The match kicked off with a tremendous catch from the fly half from Folkestone as he weaved in and out from the opposition. But then the full back from Blackheath dived at his legs taking him down like a tree falling in the the woods. The Folkestone James  inside centre picked up the ball and dived for the try line. He did his signature cartwheel . (more…)

London 2012 : Simply Amazing .

When i’m ninety and i tell my grandchildren about London 2012 , I want then to know how it felt to be there , how excited we felt , how our emotions ran and how proud we were.

When London won the Olympic bid back in 2005 , it didn’t even register with me , I didn’t think I’d watch the 2012 Olympics but when it finally came along, I did. And to be honest I thought it was really amazing how London created such a overwhelming atmosphere and it just felt like the world had forgotten everything and all the problems such as the recession , wars etc we have and we all just came together as one world and enjoyed the games.
One of my best highlights of London 2012 Olympics was when Usain Bolt won the 100m and 200m final, I just think that it was the most exciting and overwhelming 9 seconds of my life when his foot steped onto that finishing line , although I’m not Jamacian it just felt good to see everyone cheering & smiling and supporting him although he wasn’t from their team.
Another thing I also liked about the Olympics was the fact that everyone played a part in the Olympics, of course we weren’t athletes but something as simple as giving tourist instructions played a part in the games.

Did you enjoy the Olympics? Looking forward to the Paralympics?
Maybe you haven’t seen this:

Enjoy!

My name is May and I’m fourteen years old. You would think that a girl my age would be obsessed with shopping and boys but not me, I’m obsessed with the Royal Family.
It wasn’t always like this. The moment when I knew I loved the Royals was at the Jubilee weekend. My family thought it was another one of those passing phases but I knew it was for life. My mum, knowing how much I loved the royals, bought me tickets to the Jubilee concert.
It was the best time ever. I laughed and smiled all day.

What would you do if you were queen or king for the day? We asked our special visitor, Helen Sands, aka the Thames Troubador, and now we are asking you!

I met Will Smith.
There were so many people there to come and see him such as the audience, staff members from the museum and so many other people.
I met him in the science museum in the I max cinema on the 16th May 2012.
Everyone was shocked, surprised, excited, happy and speechless. Most people asked question and made comments such as ‘I can’t believe you’re really here’, ‘How did you come here?’ and ‘Are you married?’
I didn’t get a chance to speak to him but I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Will Smith has a really rich American accent. He was really friendly and a very happy and jolly guy.
I was really excited, happy, surprised because I didn’t know he was going to be there and I was over the moon. I’m really happy I got a chance to meet him.
