Tottenham come out top in five-goal thriller

Manchester United were denied victory in a shocking conclusion to September’s share of English Premier League matches, when they lost to Spurs in a thrilling match which ended 3-2 in Spur’s favour. New signing Vertonghen opened the scoring in the second minute bringing the spectators to their feet. Bale then put  the visitors ahead with a further in the first half. Half time came and Spurs had a two goal advantage.

England football manager Fabio Capello says that the England team has a high chance of winning the 2010 World Cup as they have pushed themselves very hard and are aiming to win.

At the moment the England squad are training in South Africa in Johannesburg. John Terry is now the England’s captain as Rio Ferdinand, who was Capello’s first choice, has had a knee injury.

The England players are quietly confident. They have said it’s going to be hard but they may have a good chance. England are in group C and the other teams that are in there group are Algeria, Slovenia, and the USA.

England is playing in the group’s first game on Monday 14^th June against the USA.

The England squad says that will be a hard game but hopefully they will win.
