We’re going to help set up a blog for Jen and she will be coming in the classroom tomorrow. Jen is known to us as our storyteller and has commissioned us to help her. Here is the brief that Jen sent us…

Hi, my name is Jen.
I work with stories, theatre, events and festivals.
I like to be creative and to give people experiences.
I like my work to be simple and easy to access not too flash or fussy.
It’s important that other people are inspired by what I do – hopefully to do something creative themselves.
I like the sky and clouds and drawing on brown paper. I like making cakes, colouring in and taking photos.
I want to make a blog about doing fun creative things for others. For example turning someone’s living room into a park if they can’t go outside, making an advert calendar full of memories for a friend, writing a story for someone and sending them a chapter a week in the post…
I’d like it to become a place where other people share projects and activities, recipes and ideas; a place where people can plan adventures!

Jen’s target audience

  • Everyone: Because things she wants to do include, things lots of people enjoy. e.g: colouring in/photos/baking cakes.
  • Friends: – “making a calendar of memories for friends.”
  • New contacts: – to share projects- reach out to fellow professionals, possible clients?

Jen’s purpose

  • The blog is a cheap and effective way to get critical responses and find buyers.
  • To speak to everyone. She uses language that speaks to people of all ages and genders. When she says things like ” It’s important that other people are inspired by what I do – hopefully to do something creative themselves.”
  • Inspirer people she gives examples of things that would inspirer people to be creative and think out side the box. “It’s important that other people are inspired by what I do – hopefully to do something creative themselves.”
  • To build a community. She gives examples of ways that people can use her blog to interact and inspirer each other. “I’d like it to become a place where other people share projects and activities, recipes and ideas; a place where people can plan adventures!”

It was really good that you all looked into what Jen’s brief was about. the one thing that I would say is that it could do with a little editing and a little more information. I really like your use of PEE. you all are getting more confidant with using PEE and other literary devises.
