So, tomorrow is the first day of a new term. It’s 4th January, and a time when people are making resolutions to change things in their lives, or to create new possibilities.
The word January comes from the Latin word for door, so January is the doorway into the new.
All very symbolic.
In the classroom we’ll be thinking about things we’d like to change, personally, locally, nationally and internationally. If you have any ideas for resolutions you think world leaders could make to improve our world, please put them in a comment below.

Happy New Year, Evelina Secondary Class!
Looking forward to following your blog again in 2011.
Sounds like an interesting topic to think about at the start of the year…
I hope world leaders this year will really make a concerted effort to put the environment at the top of their agendas – and not make further compromises in this area in the light of economic problems we are facing globally.
On a personal level, I am hoping to practise being more mindful – appreciating what I have now, making the most of each day, and not worrying so much about what’s gone before or what’s to come in the future…
Wishing you all happy year ahead – good luck with sticking to any resolutions you have made!
Eleanor.
Thanks Eleanor.
Nice to see you here.
