We were having a look at other blog posts tagged with Evelina Hospital and came across this one

http://thebarrowboy.wordpress.com/2008/04/08/hospital-days/

It describes the old Evelina, the one that was demolished in the 1970s.

Take a look and see how it strikes you.

How does it compare with the Evelina Hospital today?

    Hi, everyone.

I’m the author off the Barrow Boy blog mentioned in the post. I’m so glad to see you are gathering information about the school, old and new. Until I read this blog, I didn’t realize there was a “school” as such, how it worked, etc.

I can hardly exaggerate the positive effect it had on my life by teaching me to read so well at a such a young age, as I was bed-bound for a whole year. I think it was the reason that I went on to grammar school, at St. Olaves in Tooley St.

    Best wishes,

    Peter Leaver

      Dear Peter
      Thank-you for the lovely message.
We were wondering if you had any further memories of your time at the Evelina Hospital.
Might you be interested in being a guest author on our page and sharing them here.
      Best wishes
