England’s first World Cup game doesn’t go as fans planned but England still has hope.

On Saturday, England’s goal keeper Robert Green made a big mistake for England by letting in Clint Dempsey goal.

England’s first World Cup game kicked off well and by the fourth minute England’s Captain Steven Gerrard had scored  England a goal. England fans were more disappointed by Green’s mistake then the England squad themselves. The Chelsea Midfielder Frank Lampard said “”We need to stay together as a group. We all make mistakes, and unfortunately as a keeper you are the last line.”The ball moved about a bit. Greeny would be a bit disappointed but he did make a very good save second half.”

Robert Green is still hoping he can play in  Friday’s game against Algeria. So far, Algeria has played one World Cup game, and lost against Slovenia.

Fabio Capello was disappointed by Green’s miss but he is more upset and worried about central defender Ledley King’s injury which he got in the first half. So far, two of the England players are out of the world cup due to injuries.

Good newsy account HBL. You start with an attention-grabbing first sentence; good use of quotes; it just needs a little more work on the punctuation. 🙂
